Cellographies propose un dialogue entre musique et peinture en forme de voyage à travers la création contemporaine d'aujourd'hui.
Par ses interprétations de pièces contemporaines pour violoncelle, Amicie Ganvert tisse un fil sonore qui dicte en direct une écriture picturale improvisée à l’artiste William‑Josh Beck.
Celui‑ci transpose l’énergie sonore dans le trait de pinceau : il ne s’agit pas de peindre ce qui se voit, mais ce qui s’écoute — transcrire l’essence du flux sonore, la voix du violoncelle, en matière picturale.
Le programme mêle pièces de compositeurs contemporains vivants japonais : Karen Tanaka, Toshio Hosokawa, Toshiro Mayuzumi ; et français : Kono Hana de Camille Pépin et Kelloíchon pour violoncelle et bande de William-Josh Beck en création mondiale.
Cellographies proposes a dialogue between music and painting, shaped as a journey through today’s contemporary creation.
Through her interpretations of contemporary works for cello, Amicie Ganvert weaves a sonic thread that directly guides the improvised pictorial writing of artist William-Josh Beck.
He translates the sound energy into the brushstroke: it is not about painting what is seen, but what is heard — transcribing the essence of the sonic flow, the voice of the cello, into pictorial matter.
The programme brings together works by living contemporary Japanese composers — Karen Tanaka, Toshio Hosokawa, Toshiro Mayuzumi — and French composers: Kono Hana by Camille Pépin and Kelloíchon for cello and tape by William-Josh Beck, in its world premiere.
