Né en 2010, le projet folk de William Josh Beck livre un premier EP Fire Lady sorti en Mars 2012. Entre folk acoustique et pop, relevées d'une touche d’Old time music et d’americana, les chansons de William Josh Beck y tissent de petits contes étranges, cruels ou romantiques : histoires de crimes et de trahisons, d’amour et de solitude, miniatures pulp et petites tragédies en un acte... Voyageant à bout de souffle des espaces sauvages du Far West au Sud américain, naviguant de rivages troubles jusqu’au coeur du tumulte urbain, son écriture marque la rencontre du songwriting des 60’s (Townes Van Zandt) et du renouveau folk des années 2000.
Autour de la sortie de cet EP, portés par une voix aérienne et envoûtante, conjugant guitare folk, banjo et contrebasse, les concerts de William Josh Beck emportent le public d’une énergie rock unplugged (16 Horsepower) à une délicatesse héritée du folk anglo-saxon d’hier et d’aujourd’hui de Tim Buckley à Laura Marling. Entre 2011 et 2012, William Josh Beck tourne de la Bretagne à Paris (L'International), accueilli par divers festivals (Toutenmusic (29), Bars'n Breizh Rennes et Saint Brieuc).

Travelling breathlessly from the Wild West to the american South, sailing from shores of trouble to the heart of urban tumult, his writing blends 60's songwriting (Townes Van Zandt) with 2000's folk revival.
After the release of this EP, William Josh Beck performed concerts where folk guitar, banjo and upright bass blend with a mesmerizing and ethereal voice, ranging from an unplugged rock feeling (16 Horsepower) to a delicacy inherited from Anglo-Saxon folk from Tim Buckley Laura Marling.
Between 2011 and 2012, William Josh Beck toured through Brittany to Paris (L'International), hosted by various festivals, Toutenmusic (29), Bars'n Breizh Rennes and Saint Brieuc.
